Make Your Home Made Pizza in 20 Minutes

published by Nikita K on Aug 19, 2009

Ever had that strong craving for a slice of pizza? Did you find it so strong that you just couldn’t resist it and had to eat a slice of pizza so you ended up spending the money you stored away for the weekend just so you could satiate your longing? Or did you find that you just couldn’t be bothered to ring the local pizza delivery place for a pizza? Not to worry, the solution is here.

When you want pizza, you don’t have to crave for JUST pizza. You can emulate a pizza to suit your tastes but you can use readily available ingredients.

All you have to do, is get some bread! It could be ciabatta, pitta, naan or even just simple bread that you make your toast with.

Top up your bread with some tomato ketchup or some other sauce to suit your tastes. Fill up the surface of the bread with your choice of meats and vegetables and finally, once you’ve added all you want, top it off with some cheese. When it comes to cheese, you don’t HAVE to have mozzarella but you can even try others like cheddar or something that you can readily get at home.

Once you’ve done all of the toppings, prop the pizza into the oven for about 10-15 minutes, just enough so that the cheese melts over the surface and grills slightly. Depending on it, reduce the time or increase the time the pizza is in the oven for.

And voila! Your home made pizza is done!

Now, I know that it doesn’t taste like the scrumptious pizzas that Pizza Hut makes but face the facts for a moment. Here is why your home made pizza is actually good:

  1. You made it.
  2. You made it with ingredients that are readily available at home.
  3. It didn’t cost you much.
  4. You are experimenting with food AND improving your cooking skills.
  5. You got to pick the amount and the kinds of toppings you wanted.
  6. It got over so quickly that you didn’t have to wait long whereas if you got it from the pizza delivery place, you’d have to wait for dear Mr. Pizza Delivery Guy to turn up at your door before you fish out the cash.
  7. It probably contains far lesser calories and has much healthier toppings (provided you pick them).

So hope you enjoy your home made “pizza” now and hopefully that should satiate you until the next time when you actually DO get a pizza. Bon appepizza!
