30-minute chow mein noodle recipe for you to enjoy! It’s fast, easy to cook, and delicious. It’s perfect for lunch, dinner, parties, or any gathering. It’s a great potluck idea too! You’ll love this chow mein recipe.

Chow mein is a very easy dish to cook, and it only takes about 30 minutes. It is a very fast and economical dish. It is also a healthy dish as I try to put as much vegetables as I can. The noodles I use are steamed noodles so they are not greasy.

This is a delicious chow mein recipe, try it and enjoy!

Ingredients

  • Steamed chow mein noodles
  • garlic
  • chicken (or any meat of your choice)
  • white mushrooms
  • carrots
  • cabbage
  • bean sprouts
  • seasonings

Method

  1. In a small bowl, marinate the sliced chicken with soy sauce, pepper, garlic powder and a little bit of sesame oil.
  2. Bring water to a rolling boil. Add a little bit of oil.
  3. Put noodles in the boiling water for 1 minute.
  4. Rinse noodles in cold water.
  5. Saute garlic in oil.
  6. Add the chicken.
  7. When meat is no longer pink, add the rest of the ingredients (except the noodles).
  8. Add the seasonings: soy sauce, a little bit of oyster sauce and black pepper
  9. Transfer to a big bowl.
  10. Using the same skillet, put a little bit of oil and put the drained noodles.
  11. Add soy sauce and oyster sauce to taste.
  12. Transfer the noodles to the same bowl (in step # 9).
  13. Mix them all together.
  14. Transfer to a serving bowl.
  15. Serve while hot! Yummy!

Tips:

  • After rinsing the noodles in water, you can drizzle some olive oil so the noodles are more smooth and not sticky.
  • You can substitute with any meat and vegetables you like.
  • Whenever I cook this dish I make a large batch so there will be left-overs for the following day. This saves me time cooking! It’s great to bring to work the following day, and also for the kids’ lunch.
  • You can garnish it with chopped green onions and sliced scrambled eggs if you’d like.
  • You can also experiment with other flavors and spices. I’ve tried putting curry flavor and it tastes delicious too!
  • This is a great dish to bring to potluck.

Enjoy this yummy chowmein recipe!
