Goan Style Masala Fried Fish

published by avissado on Sep 2, 2012

This recipe makes a fantastic party snack food or main course depending on the size of fish, but of course!

Goan Style Masala Fried Fish

Fish fillets

Turmeric

Red Chili Powder

Lime juice

Salt

Beaten egg

White Flour for dusting(optional)

fine semolina or rava

half cup vegetable oil for frying

Method:

Prepare a marinade using juice of one lime or lemon, 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder and 1 teaspoon of Red Chili Powder, and salt(as per your taste, but of course!). Marinate fish fillets in the prepared lemon(lime) juice and spice sauce for at least half an hour.

When you are ready to fry the fish, dip each fillet in beaten egg and then coat each side lightly with white flour(optional, you may choose to skip this step), before coating fillet fully with semolina.

Heat oil in pan and fry fish on both sides.

Serve hot with salad.
