Great recipe.

Grandma’s Peanut butter easter eggs

1 cup chunky peanut butter

1/2 cup butter softened

2 cups confectioner’s sugar (divided)

2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

2 tablespoons shortening

In a bowl mix peanut butter and butter until mixed well Mix in 1 cup confectioner’s sugar mix it well

Sprinkle some of the rest of the sugar on a cutting board

Turn the peanut butter mixture onto board and knead in enough of the rest of the sugar until the mix holds it’s shape

Shape into eggs

Cover and chill for 1 hour

In a double boiler over hot water, melt the chocolate chips and the shortening and keep stirring until smooth

Dip eggs and place them on wax paper to harden up

Grandma always made these at Easter time

    Very easy recipe for peanut butter Easter eggs. You can also pat the peanut butter mixture into flat ovals, put a spoon on jelly or jam in the center and top it with a second, flat peanut butter patty for jelly-filled eggs.
