An effortlessly made and quickly cooked snack, this recipe demonstrates the magic of combination cooking. To make a meal of it, add a salad and jacket potatoes or Quick Pizza Buns.
INGREDIENTS:
- 8 drumsticks
- Juices of two lemons
- 4-5 cloves garlic
- 1 small onion, grated
- Salt
- Pepper
- Red chilli powder
- A little butter or oil, melted
- 1 teaspoon so-ya sauce
- 2 teaspoons honey

METHOD:
- Mix together the lemon juice, garlic, onion, seasonings. If you have time, let the mixture sit for some time to allow the flavors to infuse. Make a couple of cuts on each drumstick and rub the marinade over each. Pour the remaining over and leave to marinate overnight or for as many hours as possible.
- To cook, preheat the MW + Grill (100%) for 10 minutes. Lay the drumsticks on the high rack and cook for 6 minutes, turning once or till browned to your satisfaction. Keep a bowl or dish underneath to catch the juices.
- Lay in a serving dish and serve brushed with the honey-so-ya mixture. In case you prefer, substitute the so-ya with lemon juice.
Makes 8 drumsticks.
Note:
In case your oven does not have the combination cooking facility, either cook the chicken first in a dish and then grill or simply cook (6 minutes at 100% power) and serve with the juices poured over. You may add the so-ya and honey to the marinade in Step 1.
