Late 4th of July Recipe
Happy Late 4th of July.
This is a really good recipe and quick to make a pound and a half (more or less, however much you’d like) hamburger
Ingredients
- 1 med onion- chopped
- 2 stalks of celery- chopped
- 2 cans kidney beans
- 1 large can of diced tomatoes (cheap brands are fine)
- 1 large can of tomato sauce
- 1 reg size can (16oz) tomato puree
- 1 small can tomato paste
Method
Half of a small jar of Mexene chili seasoning (this is the main ingredient that gives it that perfect taste, trust me on this, you will love it) Use as much as you like to your taste, I usually use almost a whole small jar in mine.
Also you can adjust the thickness of the chili by the sauce and paste you choose to add, more of less, however you prefer, the main thing is the Mexene, PLEASE don’t use anything else, give this a try, you will love it. It’s not hot hot or anything, so if you like it hot add hot sauce or something. I has great flavor and does have a bit of a kick, but it’s not what I would call hot, just flavorful. Hope you like it.
fry up the hamburger, onion, and celery- drain off the fat. Add the rest of the ingredients and stir cook on med heat till hot through and enjoy with Doritos or Fritos’
Now, I love the celery and my Aunt Florence, whose recipe this is, used to put the small little hearts of the celery in whole, yep, leaves and all. We would fight over these little morsels, they are so good in the chili. (some would be 4 to 6 inches long) We’d also eat it with peanut butter sandwiches (don’t ask) I don’t do that any more though.
