Beef and Cabbage Pie

Ingredients

  • 7oz Potatoes (Shredded)
  • 7oz Cheddar Cheese (Grated)
  • 1lb Minced Beef
  • 1 Tablespoon Vegetable Oil
  • 6oz Cabbage (Shredded)
  • 4oz Canned Green Chillies (Drained & Chopped)
  • 4fl oz Taco Sauce
  • Salt and Ground Black Pepper
  • Butter
  • Store bought or Home Made Pie Crust

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and lightly grease 9in pie plate or tin with butter. Combine the potatoes with half the cheese and season with salt and pepper. Next press the mixture into the bottom and on the sides of the prepared pie plate and bake in the oven for about 20 minutes. In a large frying pan, brown the beef in the vegetable oil and drain. Then add the cabbage and saute until crisp.
  2. Remove the beef and cabbage from the heat and add the chillies and taco sauce. Next Season with salt and pepper and spoon the mixture into the crust, and bake for a further 20 minutes. Finish the pie off by sprinkling with the remaining cheddar cheese, and baking until the cheese melts. Allow the beef and cabbage pie to stand for about ten minutes before serving or freeze an serve later.
