A nice and tasty meat dish. Please leave comments telling me what you thought.

 Ingredients

  • 900g shoulder steak cut into cubes
  • 1 bay leaf
  • salt and pepper (seasoning)
  • 1tsp oil (whatever you prefer)!
  • 1/2tsp dried thyme
  • 1 clove garlic (crushed)
  • 275ml pale ale (or whatever ale you have)
  • 350g onions (sliced)
  • 1tsp plain flour

Method

Heat OIL in a large casserole dish, add STEAK CUBES a few at a time. Brown the meat well and remove onto a plate. Add ONIONS and brown lightly, return the meat and add the FLOUR and stir well, add the PALE ALE. Bring to simmering point and add BAY LEAF, THYME and SEASONING. Put a tight lid on casserole dish and place in the oven at 150.F/300.C/Gas mark 2 for 2hours.
