Cooking Without Mom: Beef Burritos

A delicious dish that is not only nutritious, and well balanced meal, but goes great with parties too! It’s super easy to make, and does not take a long time. It’s great!

Ingredients

  • 250g ground beef
  • 50mL onion
  • 15mL taco seasoning
  • 100mL grated cheese
  • 75mL re fried beans
  • 50mL tomatoes, chopped
  • 50mL lettuce, shredded
  • 50mL sour cream
  • 30mL salsa
  • 4 tortilla shells
  • 50mL water

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F.
  2. Cook ground beef and onion in frying pan. Drain fat in empty bowl.
  3. Return meat to frying pan and add taco seasoning and 50mL water (add more water if needed).
  4. Wrap tortilla shells in a damp tea towel (NOT a napkin) and bake in oven for 10-12 minutes (no longer).
  5. Spread 1/3 of tortilla shell with refried beans.
  6. Top with meat mixture.
  7. Add cheese, tomato, lettuce, sour cream and salsa.
  8. Fold up the bottom quarter of shell.
  9. Roll from the food side. Eat!
