Crockpot Smothered Pork Chops

Cooking dinner or supper in a slow cooker is an assemble it and forget it. This is a quick and easy dish that cooks slowly. When you cook things like this, the meat gets fork tender and delicious.

If you have a slow cooker also known as a crockpot, this recipe is easy to prepare.  Just add the ingredients in your crockpot, and then set the dial.  The meat comes out delicious and tender.  Sometimes we add cheese over the top in the final minutes of cooking time to add a different flavor twist.

Crockpot Smothered Pork Chops

Ingredients

6 bone-in pork chops

Pepper

1 medium onion, chopped or sliced in rings

1 can (10 3/4 ounces) Campbell’s® Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup

1 can (10 3/4 ounces) Campbell’s® Condensed Cream of Celery Soup

Milk

6 potatoes, peeled and cut in half

Cheese

Directions

Season the front and back sides of the pork chops.  Because of the canned soup, I omit salting the pork chops.  Layer the pork chops and onions in the bottom of the crockpot.

Add the potatoes over the top.

Remove the soups from the can and pour them into a small bowl.  Using the empty can as a measuring cup, fill it half or ¾ full of milk.  Stir the soup and milk until smooth.  Pour this mixture over the potatoes, pork chops, and onion.

Cover and cook on LOW for 8 to 9 hours* or until the pork is fork-tender. Or cook on high  for 5 to 6 hours.

About 20 minutes before serving, add some shredded or slices of cheese.  I use sharp cheddar cheese and hot pepper cheese.  Use the flavor cheese you like best.

If you don’t have potatoes or you want to try something different serve it with the cooked rice.
