This recipe is easy to make for the person who is just learning to cook. Simple ingredients, hamburger, eggs, corn flakes, milk, ketchup, butter and crisco. That’s all there is to it. Great for a potluck dinner.

Easy Beginner Bake Meatloaf

3 Lbs of lean hamburger

3 eggs

1 chopped onion

½ cup of milk

1 cup of corn flakes

Salt & pepper for season taste, crisco and butter for browning, ketchup for top of meatloaf

In a large bowl mix hamburger, corn flakes, eggs chopped onion, and a dash of salt & pepper keeping mixture very moist. If mixture seems a bit dry, just add a little more milk.

In a roasting pan, place a table spoon of butter and a table spoon of crisco, form meat in the shape of a loaf and place meatloaf on top of the crisco and butter. Pour ketchup on top of the meatloaf and spread out evenly. Set temperature to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and keep lid on roaster. Bake approx. 45 minutes and then take cake turner and loosen from the bottom of the roaster. Crisco and butter is browned, add about 1 quart of water and put back in the oven without the lid to brown and bake for about 1-1/2 hours. Use the juice from the meatloaf to make the gravy.
