Economy Stew

published by melmcgburson on Jan 9, 2009

A good winter meal that’s made in one pot. Save money and clean-up time, and have a good, hearty meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef. The lower the fat, the better.
  • 1 can of Ranch Style Beans
  • 1 can whole kernel corn
  • 1 small yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • Worcestershire Sauce to taste
  • Ketchup to taste
  • Garlic Powder, Salt, Pepper, and Seasoning Salt all to taste

Preparation

  1. Brown and drain the ground beef
  2. Add the pepper and onion. Cook until onion is soft.
  3. Add canned ingredients.
  4. Add ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and spices to top of mixture. Stir thoroughly. Reduce heat to low. Cover and cook until heated thoroughly and ingredients are well-combined.

Goes great with cornbread or homemade bread.

When i first saw the title, i thought you had written a poem about our messed up present day economy. But i have to say, i like your recipe much better. Thanks.
