Frank Herda’s Quick Roasted Turkey
A quick delicious turkey dinner for one or two people.
If you like a Turkey dinner, but don’t want the hassles of doing a full bird, or if you just have one or two people to serve, then here is a fast, tasty, recipe.
Ingredients:
A package of Turkey Cutlets (or a boneless Turkey Brest, no bone, which can be found in most grocery stores. Sorry, there is no wishbone to make a wish! Do not use frozen Turkey!
Ginger Powder
Paprika
Parsley Flakes
Garlic Powder
Course Ground Black Pepper
Butter, or if you are cholesterol conscious use a substitute like “I can’t believe it’s not butter.”
Roasting Bag – Reynolds or equivalent – Standard size
Foil Oven Tray or a glass one if you don’t have a Foil Oven Tray.
Method:
Rinse cutlets in cold water and place on a clean paper towel.
Lightly sprinkle each cutlet with powdered ginger.
Place the Turkey Cutlets into a roasting bag.
Into a mixing cup, add one tablespoon of butter, or substitute, for each cutlet plus one additional tablespoon.
Place the mixing cup in a microwave to melt the butter. Remove from microwave and stir to make sure that you have a completely melted the butter. If you do not have a microwave, you can place the mixing cup into a pan of bowled water.
Add Paprika to the mixing cup, usually about a teaspoon is sufficient, and stir. The color of the mixture should be dull reddish, with the Paprika completely dissolved.
Add a light layer of Parsley Flakes into the mixing cup.
Add a dash of Garlic Powder into the mixing cup.
Add a dash of Course Ground Black Pepper to the mixing cup.
Pour the contents of the mixing cup over the Turkey Cutlets in the roasting bag.
Seal the roasting bag with the handy little strip that comes with the roasting bag.
Place the roasting bag on a foil oven tray.
Place the tray into a preheated oven, and set the temperature to 350 degrees.
Cooking time should be from a half hour to an hour depending on your oven.
Please make sure that you flip the cutlets over every fifteen minutes to ensure that one side doesn’t dry out.
When the Turkey Cutlets turn a golden color and are completely cooked through, you are done.
There you have it! Serve piping hot with your favorite side dishes.
