Quick Fried Turkey Cutlets
A delicious, unique, way to prepare Turkey Cutlets
Background:
Thanksgiving morning came so quick this year, and I was in a mood to try a new way to make our Turkey dinner. I had seen some ads on TV about people who take a whole bird and deep-fry it. It seemed like an interesting way to do a Turkey, but I did not have a large deep fryer or a whole bird to work with. What I was looking for was a quick, simple, way to make Turkey dinner for one or two people. So I thought a bit, and came up with something new.
Ingredients:
1 package of Turkey Cutlets
1 Large Grade A Egg
Milk, fat free or loaded depending on your diet
Breadcrumbs, plain or seasoned
Ginger Powder
Paprika Powder
Cooking Oil, your choice
Method:
Into an eight to ten inch low side bowl, add one egg.
Add ¼ cup of milk.
While a whisk does this the best, a fork will do the job, blend the egg and milk until you have a smooth yellow creamy mixture.
Into another eight to ten inch low side bowl, add ½ cup of bread crumbs.
Add a teaspoon of Ginger powder.
Add a teaspoon of Paprika powder.
Mix these dry ingredients thoroughly.
Into a ten to twelve inch frying pan, add your favorite cooking oil.
Place on burner and heat oil until it is ready for frying. Never boil the oil!
One at a time, dip a Turkey Cutlet into the egg mixture.
Make sure that you coat both sides of the cutlet with the mixture.
Then place the coated Turkey cutlet into the bowl with the dry breadcrumb mixture.
Flip the Turkey cutlet over to make sure that both sides of the Turkey cutlet now have a nice coating of the breadcrumb mixture.
Next, one at a time, carefully place the Turkey cutlet into the preheated frying pan.
Periodically flip the Turkey cutlet so that both sides are cooked.
When the Turkey cutlet turns a golden-dark brown, then it is done. I have found that if the oil is preheated to the proper cooking temperature, cooking time is just a few minutes. Never boil the oil!
Place the cooked Turkey cutlets on a large plate that has a layer of paper towels.
This will absorb the excess oil. Flip the Turkey cutlet to make sure that both sides have excess oil removed.
Then place the Turkey cutlets on a serving dish.
There you have it, simple, yet delicious deep fried Turkey Cutlets, ready to be severed with your favorite side dishes. Depending on the number of Turkey Cutlets in the package, and your appetite, this will serve two to four people.
