Ginger Pork
How to cook pork with ginger.
I like to have my pork cook with ginger. It has an outstanding taste. The aroma of the ginger and the sweet taste of the pork make it a dish I really love. Here is how I cook my pork with ginger.
First of all we need to prepare the ingredients. The essential ingredients we must have to cook Ginger Pork are pork, ginger, shallot, garlic and oil. We can add lemon grass, chilies, onion, spring onion and coriander or shallot sprout for some green decoration. And of course we need salt, soy sauce and we can also add monosodium glutamate if we want.
First we need to prepare our pork meat we are going to use. We can select any part of the meat we like. I like to use the thigh meat with some of the fat still attached to the meat. Once we have our pork meat, clean it by rinsing it with fresh running water. If want, we can boil a the pork meat for a while because some people didn’t like the pork smell so by boiling it it will help to reduce the smell. Then we can cut the meat into a thin slice according to our own liking. The thinner it is the faster it will cooks.
Then we prepare other ingredients such as ginger, shallot and garlic. Peel of the skin of the three ingredients and wash it. Then cut it into thin slice. If we want, we can also prepare some lemon grass, chilies, big onion or spring onion. Lemon grass will add fragrance to our dish while chilies will add some spiciness to it. The big onion and spring onion will add extra taste to our dish. Cut it all into thin slices. It doesn’t matter how much we use all of this ingredient, it all up to our own liking and the amount of the pork meat we use. That is the beauty of this dish. No restriction in the recipe.
Once we ready with all of this ingredients, we can prepare to cook. Heat our wok and then add some oil. Add in the ingredients we prepared in paragraph four just now. Fry it until we the fragrance comes out. Once the fragrance already comes out, slower down our stove fire or if we use induction cooker, reduce the cooking temperature.
Then add in the pork. Stir it thoroughly in the wok and once everything is mixed up well in the wok, we can add some water until the whole thing is submerge with water. Leave it with a medium heat as long as the water boiling inside the wok. Now we can add salt and monosodium glutamate. Once the water level already low, we can add soy sauce if we want or if we don’t want we can just stir it to help the water level getting reduce. Once the water inside quite dry, the dish is ready to be served.
Pour the pork from the wok and put it on a plate. Then if we want we can cut some coriander leaves or shallot sprout and spread it on the top as a decoration. Now the dish is ready to be served.
