Hot Bean and Hamburger Casserole

published by Chris Stonecipher on Oct 22, 2008

A delicious recipe past down from my families’ generation.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb of hamburger with salt to taste
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 can of cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 box of frozen tater tots
  • 1 can of French Style Green Beans

Method

Brown the above ingredients and put in a bottom of a 2 quart casserole pan. On top of the hamburger layer add 1 can of drained French Style Green Beans. With the next layer, add 1 box of frozen tater tots. Mix 1 cup of milk with 1 can of cream of chicken soup and pour over all the ingredients. Bake at 350 degrees F for 1 hour. The top should be golden brown.

Can you substitute the can of chicke soup with a light chicken stock. American food is very rich. I would love to make a light version though as it sounds delicious.

    James,
I believe you can use a light chicken stock. My mom does make rich food.
