Hot Dog Bean Pot

A great credit-busting tasty meal for everyone to enjoy.

Times are hard- with the credit crunch and purse strings getting tighter, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t feed your family some delicious recipes for great prices! Try this main meal to add a bit of fun to your dinner time, without spending a fortune!

Ingredients

Serves 6.

  • 12 pack of hot dogs
  • 1 tin of butter beans
  • 3 tins of baked beans
  • 1 tin of chopped tomatoes
  • 1 tin sweetcorn
  • 1 table spoon gravy granules
  • 1 table spoon ketchup
  • Grated cheese
  • Salt and pepper to season

Method

  1. First, make sure that you have a large casserole pot for this recipe and set it aside for later.
  2. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees, gas mark 6
  3. Place a large saucepan over a medium heat and add baked beans, butter beans, chopped tomatoes, sweetcorn. Stir well.
  4. Chop up hot dogs into small pieces and add to the saucepan.
  5. Cook for five minutes on hob.
  6. Add gravy granules, ketchup and salt and pepper and stir well. Cook for a further 5 minutes.
  7. Transfer to casserole dish and sprinkle grated cheese over the top.
  8. Cook for 30 minutes until cheese is melted and brown.
  9. Serve with fresh new potatoes.
