Kicked Up Manwich

published by Teresa T on Jan 13, 2009

Sometimes you don’t have a lot of time to get dinner ready, kids bathed and ready for bed and still have a little time for yourself at the end of your day. So here is a kicked up way to add a little “pop” to your Manwich meal. It may come from a can, but it will taste like it’s homemade.

Ingredients:

  • 1 can of Manwich
  • 1 pound of hamburger
  • 1 teaspoon of chopped roasted garlic
  • 1 teaspoon of regular ground garlic
  • 1/2 cup of Worcestershire sauce
  • Favorite buns

Preparation:

  1. Brown the hamburger in a medium frying pan on medium heat.  (Be careful not to cook the meat too well done.)
  2. Pour your can of Manwich into the hamburger.  Stirring the hamburger as you go.
  3. Add your chopped roasted garlic.  Blend well.
  4. Sprinkle your ground garlic on top of the mixture.  Blend well.
  5. Add 1/2 cup of Worcestershire sauce.  Blend well.
  6. Allow mixture to come to a slight boil.  Stirring occasionally to keep the mixture from sticking to the bottom of your pan.
  7. Taste the mixture for consistency and flavor.  Add additional seasoning if needed.
  8. Turn the heat down to a low simmer for approximately 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to fuse together with the sauce.
  9. Serve on your favorite buns.  (Warm the buns in the oven if desired, before plating.)
