Lamb Burgers with Tomato Relish
Quick and easy-to-make lamb burgers.
Ingredients
- 450 grams of plum tomatoes
- 1 small red onion
- 10 fresh basil leaves
- 2 garlic cloves
- 3 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 tablespoons of vinegar
- 450 grams lean minced lamb
- 1 red onion
- Salt and freshly grounded black pepper
- 4 sesame seed buns
- 4 tablespoons of mayonnaise
- Large handful of salad leaves
Method
1: using a knife, finely chop the tomatoes and the red onion and put it in a mixing bowl. Roughly tear up the basil leaves and add into the bowl .crush the garlic and add it to the bowl. Now add the oil and vinegar and stir well. Cover and set aside.
2: put the minced lamb in another mixing bowl and mash it with a fork to break up any large lumps. Grate the onion and add it to the bowl. Season it with plenty of salt and pepper.
3: divide the lamb into 4 and shape each piece into a burger. Preheat the grill pan to high. Arrange the lamb burgers on the grill pan and cook for about 5 minutes or until they are brown. When the burgers has cooked take it out on a plate
4: spread I tablespoon of mayonnaise over the bottom half of each of the buns. place a few salad leaves on top of the mayonnaise followed by a lamb burger and a spoonful of tomato relish. Cover the top half of the buns and serve immediately.
