Louisianan Beef

I love this dish and would recommend this to the whole world.

Ingredients

  • 4 slices of bacon (diced)
  • 1lb of lean beef/stewing steak
  • 1tsp oil
  • 1 onion (sliced)
  • 1 green pepper (sliced)
  • 1 garlic clove (crushed)
  • 1/2tsp chilli powder
  • 1 tin Campbell’s condensed cream of tomato soup (or whichever tomato soup you would prefer)

Method

Fry BACON until crisp. Cut BEEF into long strips and brown in bacon fat and OIL. Add ONION, PEPPER, GARLIC and CHILLI POWDER and cook until softened. Stir in the TOMATO SOUP. Add friend bacon and simmer for 1. 1/2 hours or bake at Gas mark 3 for 2-2. 1/2 hours.

Note- I would recommend to bake for the 2 and a half hours. I’ve always had better results doing it that way.
