Meatloaf Recipe

Meatloaf is a classic dish that goes great with mash potatoes and a side of vegetables a little gravy and You have an entire meal. That is really delicious and has, everything You need in a meal.

This delicious meatloaf recipe is an enticing meal thats fit for a king. The rich taste of fresh minced beef combined with onions, garlic, Parmesan and celery, all slowly roasted together makes this succulent meatloaf a scrumptious meal. It’s also really easy to prepare and cook and in no time You and Your family will be enjoying this classic meatloaf dish.

Ingredients

  • 1oz butter
  • 1lb minced beef
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 2 garlic cloves (crushed)
  • 2oz Bulgur wheat (soaked)
  • 1oz Parmesan cheese
  • 1 celery stick (trimmed and sliced)
  • 2 tablespoons horseradish sauce
  • 2 tablespoons tomato puree
  • 2 tablespoons instant oatmeal
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves (chopped)
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper

Ingredients For the Relish

  • 2 tablespoons horseradish sauce
  • 5fl oz sour cream

Preparation

Start by greasing the bottom of a 1-1/2lb loaf tin and preheating the oven to 350°F. Next melt the butter in a large pan, and add the minced beef, onion and garlic. Saute, stirring, for seven minutes, or until the meat is brown and sealed. Transfer the mixture to a bowl, and add the remaining ingredients. Mix well, season and spoon into the prepared tin.

Cover with foil and stand the loaf tin in a roasting tin, and add 1in of water. Carefully place in the oven and cook for 1-1/2 hours. Finish by mixing, together the relish ingredients in a bowl. Turn out the meatloaf and garnish with the fresh thyme. Serve with fresh vegetables and the relish as a side condiment.
