MY FOOD – the EASY WAY : the PERFECT STEAK

published by gunner5567 on Feb 27, 2009

This recipe is an idiot proof method of cooking britains favourite food “THE STEAK”. Its so quick and easy once you have made it, you will think your f*#kin Gordon Ramsay, pardon my french.

I tell you what, if i had a penny for everytime sumone asked me, “how do you make a steak?”, i would be a rich man (well in this economic crisis i probably wouldn’t). Below is the a step by step guide to impressing anyone with a ‘Perfect Steak’.

Ingredients

  • 2 Sirloin/Rump Steak
  • 1 Clove Garlic
  • 1/2 lemon
  • Salt and Pepper
  • Thyme
  • Medium Oil
  • Butter

Method

Step 1 – Marinate Steaks

  1. Bruise and chop the thyme and garlic roughly, with a little olive oil. Then rub this mixture into the steaks.
  2. Finally, (yes final stage already) add a pinch of salt and pepper (please not the powdered stuff) to the       steaks and leave the steaks for a minimum of 30 mins to marinate in a cool place.

Step 2 – Cook Steaks

  1. Heat a pan up and when pan is hot add medium oil and butter to it. Remove the garlic and thyme from the steaks and drop into the pan.
  2. Add a squeeze of lemon to the fryin steaks and very importantly baist the steaks with the oil, butter and lemon mixture in the pan.

Cooking Time Guide

Rare
Fry on each side for 2 mins, turn steak once only.

Medium Rare
fry each side for approximately 3-4 mins. Turn steak only once.

Medium
Fry for 4-6 mins on each side. Turn Steak only once.

Well Done
Fry for 2-4 mins each side, then lower the heat and fry for further 2-3mins on each side.

Step 3 – Rest Steaks

Finally the most important part of the recipe is once the steaks are cooked, please let the steaks rest for a minium of 2-3 mins, no matter how tempting they are to eat imediately.

wow The simplest and tastiest beef i have ever made. Took me 2 mins in the morning to marinade and then 5 mins to cook, and 30 seconds to gobble up.

Thanks looking forward to more easy quick recipes
