Perfect Beef Steak

published by Tasneem on Sep 16, 2009

Delicious juicy beef steak with black peppercorn.

Ingredients

  • 5lb boneless beef steak(up to 2″ thick)
  • 2 tbsp crushed black pepper(ideally freshly crushed in a pepper mill)
  • salt to taste
  • 1 handful of fresh coriander leaves(chopped roughly)
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Method

  1. Hammer the beef steak lightly on both sides or prick lightly with a fork.
  2. Sprinkle the crushed black pepper as well as chopped coriander on both sides pressing it hard enough to be absorbed into the steak. Leave to marinade for about 2 hours at room temperature.
  3. Sprinkle salt  on both sides.
  4. Heat your grill on high.Brush little oil on each side of the steak and place over the grill.
  5. Allow each side to be cooked for 8-10 minutes or until the steak turns brown. Do not overcook or you’ll lose all the juices and flavours. The steak should be nicely pink from inside when cut.
  6. Serve hot with fresh vegetable salad.

Enjoy!
