Pork Chops a La Orange

This makes four servings, very nice flavour. This is great for New Years- it is a change from the turkey and chicken dinners.

Pork Chops a la Orange

  • 4 pork chops
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. flour
  • 2 teaspoons seasoning salt
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 Tbap. cooking oil
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 4 thin orange slices
  • 2 Tbsp. cold water
  1. Combine flour, seasoning salt, pepper, paprika.
  2. Reserve 1 tsp. mixture.
  3. Coat chops with remaining flour mixture.
  4. Heat oil skillet and brown chops.
  5. Add orange juice and cloves.
  6. Cover and simmer for 45 minutes or until tender, turning occasionally.
  7. Add orange slices and cook minutes longer.
  8. Remove chops and orange slices to serving platter.
  9. Remove cloves and discard.
  10. Blens reserved flour into 2 Tbsp. water.
  11. Pour slowly into skillet, stirring constantly.
  12. Cook until sauce thickens.
  13. Spoon sauce over chops and serve.
