Quick Hamburger Casserole
published by lisamig on Nov 11, 2007
A really fast casserole, that you can make and have in the oven in less than 15 minutes if you have all the ingredients on hand. Very child friendly.
Ingredients
- 1 pound Hamburger cooked and crumbled
- 2 cans Green beans (drained)
- 2 cans Cream of tomato soup
- Mashed potatoes (instant or leftover)
Method
- If I make a big batch of mashed potatoes for dinner and have a lot of leftovers I will usually make this quick casserole the next night. I keep frozen already cooked hamburger in the freezer for just such a meal. If using instant, use either 2 packages or the equivalent to feed 6 – 8.
- Combine cooked hamburger, green beans, and soup in a rectangular baking dish. Then put the mashed potatoes on top, spreading to cover the entire top, like frosting. Place this in the oven and bake until brown and bubbly at the edges, approximately 40 minutes.
- My kids love this recipe and I never have any left over but if you do, it makes a great take along lunch for work. Reheat in microwave for just a minute or two.
- Oven temp 375 degrees.
