Standing Rib Roast
This is an easy recipe fot a beautiful and delicious standing rib roast.
1 2-3lbs standing rib roast
1/4 cup salt
1/4 cup garlic powder
3 tbsp black pepper
You will need:
A roasting pan big enough to fit your roast and pan juices.
Begin by preheating your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. While your oven is heating mix the salt, pepper, and garlic powder in a bowl then set aside. Prepare your roast for cooking by rubbing all side with the salt mix, then place in the roasting pan fat side up. This leaves the roast sitting on the bone. Set the roast in the oven and cook for one hour. After an hour turn the oven off and leave it for an hour. This step is very important to the slow roasting process, do not open the oven door. After an hour has passed turn the oven back and set for 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Let roast for another hour. For medium rare roast to 130 degrees Fahrenheit, medium is 150 degrees Fahrenheit.
