My S.o.s Recipe

published by Jasin on Nov 27, 2008

This is my recipe for a tasty dish I call “Stuff on a shingle” or “S.o.s” for short, my step father taught me how to make it, I hope you enjoy it.

  Estimated cooking time: one hour.

  Ingredients needed:

  •   1 pound of hamburger
  •   1 bag country gravy and 1 bag mushroom gravy (you can use two of either instead of the mix if you like but I like the taste of both in one).
  •   2 cups rice (white or brown)
  •   1 head of broccoli

  Cooking directions:

1.First get your rice going since it takes bout and hour to cook unless you have instant rice, if you decided do use the broccoli you might want to get that on now as well,

2.Start cooking your hamburger, I usually add some onion and garlic salt to the hamburger, you could also add some chopped onion’s to the hamburger as well if you like.

3.Now that that the hamburger is cooking, you’ll want to get the gravy on the stove as well, cook it on a medium heat and whisk it every 3- minutes so it doesn’t burn, once it’s really hot put gravy on low heat but continue to whisk it.

4.once your hamburger is cooked you’ll want to dump it into a strainer in the sink to get the grease out, put the hamburger back into the pan you cooked it in (I like my hamburger really cooked so I usually cook it an additional five or so minutes).

5.nNow you should dump the gravy you have been whisking in with the cooked hamburger and mix it up,remove it from the heat.

6.Your rice should be done by now and the broccoli as well.

  Preparation directions:

1.Put some rice on a plate.

2.Add the broccoli on top if you decided on that or off to the side.

3.Now top it off with some of the hamburger, gravy mix and Wah-la! you have a delicious, filling entree.

  More options:

1.You can put a piece of bread underneath the rice to add more texture.

2.Also you want to cook a can or two of your favorite veggie to go on the side.

3.I usually add salt and pepper the top of it once I’ve made my plate, even some hot sauce from time to time.

Feel free to experiment, let me know if you improve on it.

It sounds delicious but perhaps better for a main course than an entree. Well done

Sounds great but here is my handy and delicious meal:

    1. Take one potato
    2. Eat it
