Bachelorette Cooking: Easy Garlic Pasta
A very easy and very quick pasta meal for those of us who don’t like to cook – or if you just love pasta and garlic.
I really don’t care much for cooking. I especially hate cleaning. So, I’ve come up with an dish that was inspired by a multi-ethnic restaurant in my town. It’s a meal that takes just a few ingredients and only one pot to clean.
Ingredients
- Cavatappi pasta (I use a fourth or a third of a package)
- Garlic cloves (I use 2-3)
- Tomato (I prefer Roma tomatoes)
- Olive Oil (I use about 1 tablespoon)
- Red Pepper flakes (if you want to give it a little kick!)
- Parmasan cheese
- Salt
Method
- Boil your pasta.
- While that cooks, cut up your garlic and tomatoes.
- Drain your pasta.
- In the same pot you used for you pasta, pour in your oil, garlic cloves and as much red pepper flakes as you can handle.
- Set the temp to low (I put mine between 2 and 3).
- Let it sauté for 2-5 minutes – or until your garlic gets very lightly brown.
- Turn off the heat and pour your pasta directly back into pot with the oil and garlic.
- Add salt and mix it all around. Dish it all into your bowl. Top it with parmesan cheese and tomatoes.
Then enjoy!
You’re left with just one pot, one cutting board, one knife, one bowl and one fork to clean (I use the same fork to mix and eat it with).
You can use a different type of pasta, but I’ve found cavatappi (which can also be called corkscrew pasta) is the best for the oil, garlic and parmesan cheese to “cling” to. Plus, I think cavatappi is the elbow macaroni for grownups!
