Easy Baked Ziti with Marinara Florentine

published by grace pishogue on Jan 11, 2009

What’s for dinner can be one of the toughest questions anyone faces in hectic lives. Here’s a quick, affordable dish that works for many occasions and is super-good.

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg ziti pasta ($1.19
  • 1 jar marinara sauce ($1.14 my store brand)
  • 1 8 oz bag mozzarella cheese ($2 store brand) (or try Italian blend)
  • 1 box frozen spinach, thawed and drained (usually 10 oz for 79 c)

Method

  1. Prepare ziti according to package instructions (generally 7-9 minutes)
  2. Preheat oven to 350.
  3. Mix all ingredients in rectangular casserole pan (9×13).
  4. Bake 25 minutes.

The bubbly tawny consistency of this super-easy delectable meal makes me hungry right now. Add bread crumbs on top while baking or garlic powder to the casserole mix for more kicks. Fresh spinach quickly cooked with olive oil is also yummy.
