Four Minute Meals – Tortellini, Ham and Peas
This delicious meal is ready in only four minutes, and is suitable for just one or as many as a you like.
Introduction:
This delicious meal is ready in only a very few minutes, and is suitable for just one or as many as a you like. The rate determining step is boiling the water for the kettle. If you have a large family, then you may need two kettles full of water to boil the tortellini in.
I was initially surprised that you can microwave petit pois, but they’re delicious, especially if you put a dab of butter on them before you microwave them. If you are unsure about this step, try it one day when you have a back-up vegetable so it doesn’t matter too much if you waste a bowl of peas.
The tortellini tastes great with butter melted over it after it has been served up, so having a side plate with a lump of butter on it may be a good idea. This meal is a surprisingly healthy alternative to ready meals, and can be made from scratch in four minutes. It makes an ideal lunch-hour meal.

Serve with candlelight and wine for an impressive home-cooked meal that tastes great for the amount of effort put in.
You can safely alternate the filling in the tortellini and the meat on the side. Sainsbury’s do an excellent turkey slice which goes well with their mushroom tortellini.
