Old Fashion Macaroni and Cheese
Remember that cheesy fluffy macaroni and cheese that they used to make? Yes, then you can recreate it. No, then you have to try this. This recipe is macaroni and cheese at its best.
8 oz. dry macaroni
3 Tablespoons butter
¼ cup finely chopped onion
½ teaspoon dry mustard
16 oz. grated sharp cheddar cheese
4 eggs
2½ cups milk
Salt and pepper to taste
Grease a 2 quart casserole dish. Cook macaroni according to directions on package. Drain. Pour macaroni back into pot and add butter. After butter melts, alternate layering macaroni and grated cheese in the greased dish. End with a little bit extra cheese for the top. Beat eggs, milk, onion, dry mustard, salt and pepper. Pour mixture over macaroni and cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
