Pasta and Marinara Meat Sauce

Goes great with crusty garlic bread, a glass of red wine and friends.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups grape tomatoes, halved
  • 1 can black olives, halved
  • Red wine
  • Olive oil
  • Half an onion
  • 4 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 jar favorite Marinara sauce
  • 1lb. Ground turkey, beef, pork or chicken
  • Any type of pasta

Method:

  1. Heat enough olive oil to cover the bottom of a skillet. Chop onion and add, along with garlic, to oil. Cook over medium heat until done, stirring often.
  2. Cook ground meat in skillet with a couple tablespoons of olive oil or red wine. When it is done, add onions and garlic, stir and keep warm.
  3. Start boiling salted water for pasta, cook and drain according to package directions.
  4. Pour approximately ½ cup red wine into a medium size pot, add tomatoes and olives. Cook over medium-low heat for about ten minutes.
  5. Add sauce to pot with tomatoes and heat through. Add to meat and keep warm.
  6. When pasta is ready, serve with meat sauce and Parmesan cheese over top.
