Hello everyone, I wanted to share with you with this interesting recipe called  Battered Prawns in Sweet and Sour Sauce.

What you need?

250 g (2 cups) plain (all-purpose) flour

2 teaspoon salt

1 kg (2 lb) medium prawns, heads and shells removed, deveined, tails left intact

2 large eggs, lightly beaten

250 ml (1 cup) oil

For Sweet and Sour Sauce:

100 g (1/2 cup) white refined sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

60 ml (1/4) cup vinegar

2 tablespoons cornflour dissolved in 250 ml ( 1 cup) water

Procedures:

1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Dredge each prawn in flour mixture, dip egg, then dredge in flour again.

2. Heat cooking oil in a wok or frying pan. Cook prawns in hot oil in batches until they turn an even yellow-orange color. Drain on paper towels.

3. To make the Sweet and Sour Sauce, blend sugar, salt, ketchup and vinegar in a saucepan. Bring to simmer over low heat. Stir in the cornflour mixture.

4. Continue simmering until sauce is thick, stirring occasionally. Pour over cooked prawns or serve as a side dip.
