Indian Prawn Curry

Nutritional Value and Health Benefits of Eating Prawns

Note : Prawns have to be eaten in moderation.
Ingredients
1 pound raw prawns
2 tomatoes
1/2 big onion
1 tsp tomato puree
1/4 tsp cumin seeds
1/4 fennel seeds
1/4 tsp mustard seeds
1 stalk curry leaves ( optional)
2 tsp chilli powder
2 tbsp curry powder
1/4 tsp turmeric
1 tbsp oil
2 tbsp of lemon juice
4 cups of water
salt as required

Method
- Heat oil in deep pan, fry all the seeds, onion, tomatoes and curry leaves for 3 min or until onion turns brown
- Add the tomato puree and stir well
- Mix all the powders and turmeric in a bowl of water (4 cups of water)
- Pour the curry mixture into the cooking pan
- Stir well and let it simmer for 5 mins on medium heat.
- Add the prawns, stir and simmer until prawns are cooked
- Add lemon juice and salt as required
- Stir and remove from heat
- Serve hot. Can be served with steamed rice, pratas or bread.
