Parmesan Prawns

The cheese coating adds a unique twist to breaded prawns. Use it to coat chicken, too.

Serves: 6

Prep time: 10 minutes

Cook time: 20 minutes

Ingredients

  • 500 grams prawns
  • 2 teaspoon citrus juice
  • 1 ½ teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • ½ to 2/3 cups Parmesan cheese

Preparation

  1. Peel the prawns and wash well
  2. Toss prawns in a mixture of citrus juice, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Marinate for 5 minutes.
  3. Dredge prawns in flour; dip in eggs, then in cheese. Refrigerate to let coating set then deep-fry until golden.
