Spare Ribs – From The Southern States

published by recipe4pete on Apr 19, 2010

Preparation time ca. 30 min.

Ingredients (4 people):

  • 300 ml ketchup
  • 2 tsp horseradish
  • 10 drops Worcester sauce
  • 20 drops Tabasco
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper
  • 2 tsp celery salt
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 2 bottles dark beer
  • mixed herbs (for barbecue)

Preparation:

Mix a sauce out of ketchup, horseradish, Worcester sauce, Tabasco, cayenne pepper, celery salt, garlic and onion powder. Apply the beer and stir well until smooth. Put the sauce into a pot and cook it for 20 min. (stir well).

Cut the spare ribs into portions and cook it 20 min. in saltwater and the remaining beer.

Rub the cooked spare ribs with barbecue herbs and put each side for 10 min on the barbecue, until they are gold brown. Brush the spare ribs with the self produced sauce and put it back on the barbecue until the sauce gets hard (this should happen very soon). Enjoy!
