If there is an unpleasant smell when cooking Brussels sprouts or any type of cabbage, you may well be over cooking them. Soak the Brussels sprouts in cold water and drain prior to cooking. Use well-salted water at full boil and cook uncovered, as per the recipe. The vegetables should be just tender, not soft and mushy. There won&#039;t be any smell if they aren&#039;t boiled to death :)</description>
