Turkey Casserole

This flavorsome turkey casserole recipe is great when You have a lot of left overs after thanksgiving, it’s also a great alternative, when Your tired of all that chicken. It’s delicious taste is amazing and has the perfect combination of rich and savory flavors.

This turkey casserole recipe has a delicious mix of flavorful ingredients. Hearty turkey is covered with a creamy sauce. Then it’s covered with freshly grated cheddar cheese, mashed potatoes and a rich and savory stuffing. Turkey casserole is a great choice for Your next meal or when You have so much Turkey, You do not know what to do with it.

Ingredients

  • 3oz butter
  • 2 tablespoons plain flour
  • 5fl oz single cream
  • 8oz cooked turkey (diced)
  • 8oz Cheddar cheese (grated)
  • 1lb potatoes (cooked and mashed)
  • 8oz dry stuffing mix
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper

Preparation

Start by preheating the oven to 350°F. Melt about half the butter in a saucepan over a low heat, then stir in the flour until thoroughly mixed. Next slowly stir in the cream and 8fl oz cold water. Season with salt and pepper and stir over a low heat for five minutes.

Next remove from the heat and place the turkey in a lightly greased baking dish. Pour the sauce over the turkey, then sprinkle with the cheese. Spread the mashed potatoes over the cheese. Now melt the remaining butter and add to the stuffing mix, then sprinkle the stuffing over the potato. Bake in the oven, uncovered, for about 45 minutes and serve.
