Adobo – a Must Try Filipino Dish
This is a Filipino dish that everybody should try. If you’re religion won’t allow it, just use chicken.
Ingredients:

1/2 kilo pork or chicken (or combination)

1/2 head garlic, minced

1/4 onion, diced

1/4 cup soy sauce
-
1/2 cup vinegar
-
1 cup of water
-
1/2 teaspoon paprika
-
3 laurel leaves (bay leaves)
-
2 tablespoons of cooking oil or olive oil
-
1 tablespoons cornstarch dissolved in water
-
Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons water
Procedures:

Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a sauce pan or wok.

Sauté the minced garlic and onions.

Add the pork and/or chicken to the pan. Add water, soy sauce, vinegar, paprika and the bay leaves.

Bring to a boil.

Cover and simmer for 30 minutes or until meat is tender.

Remove the pork and/or chicken from the sauce pan and brown them in oil on another pan.

Add the dissolved cornstarch to the original sauce pan and mix till it’s thicken.
- Put back the browned pork/chicken to the sauce.

Add salt and/or pepper to taste

Bring to a boil then simmer for an additional 5 minutes.

Serve hot with the adobo gravy and plain rice.
