Bar B Q Sauce

6 cups white vinegar

1 12-ounce bottle french’s hot sauce

1 quart tomato sauce

6 cups water

1 tablespoon cayenne (red pepper_

1 tablespoon black pepper

2 tablespoons chili powder

3 cups sugar

2 tablespoons salt

1 tablespoon garlic salt

8 tablespoons cornstarch

3 cups cold water

In a very large pot mix all ingredients except cornstarch and 3 cups water. Boil slowly for about 20 minutes. Turn off burner. Mix cornstarch and 3 cups cold water. Add to boiled mixture. Bring to a boil again for 3 minutes. For thicker sauce, add more cornstarch, for thinner sauce add more water. For a spicier flavor add more cayenne and/or black pepper. Yield: 12 pints of sauce. Refrigerate after opening each jar.
