Filipino Pork Dish(pork Adobo)

published by pearl2010 on Feb 27, 2010

A delicious recipe for pork.

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg pork belly cut into bite sized cubes

  • 1/3 cup soy sauce

  • 1/3 cup vinegar

  • 3 cloves garlic minced

  • 2 bay leaves or laurel leaves (optional)

  • 1/2 cup water

  • black beans/black pepper (optional)

  • 1/2 tsp table salt

  • 3 tablespoons oil

Procedures:

1. Put cut pork belly in a large casserole dish. Sprinkle garlic over pork. Combine vinegar and water and pour into casserole. Do not use an aluminum casserole as the aluminum will react to the vinegar.

2. Bring to boil without stirring. When mixture boils, lower heat to simmer and add the black beans/black pepper and bay leaves, if using. Add salt and allow to simmer until meats are tender, about 30 minutes. Remove from casserole, reserving any liquid.

3. In a work, heat oil and brown the pork. Combined the soy sauce and add the sugar.Remove from oil as pork brown and arrange in a serving dish. Serve with hot rice .
