Flag Salad

Recipe for flag nacho salad perfect for Fourth of July.

I know that each Fourth of July my family throws together this extravagant barbecue for family, friends, and a good time. Fourth of July is a time of celebration or our liberation and freedom. So what better way to show your patriotism than integrating it with your meal?

Ingredients

  • Tortilla chips
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1c. chopped onion
  • Sour cream
  • Guacamole
  • Picante Hot Sauce
  • Lettuce
  • Grated cheese
  • Cherry Tomatoes
  • Olives

Method

Place tortilla chips in a 13X9 in. dish. Cook 1 lb. ground beef and 1c chopped onion in a skillet until brown and drain. Spread beef over chips. Cover with sour cream and then with guacamole and then with Picante hot sauce. Now cover with lettuce. To form stripes, lay strips of grated cheese and strips of cherry tomatoes or hot sauce side by side going up. Make sure and leave a lettuce square bare at the top left hand corner. Now use sliced olives to form stars in square.
