Green Beans, Almond Salad with Steak Salad recipes.

These are two of my favorite recipes that I love to use.  Green beans and steak are my two favorite foods.  These two recipes make great recipes especially during the fall and the winter season.  Enjoy!  Tis the Season!  80 Days until Christmas!

For your ingredients, you will need the following items:

  • 1 1/2 pounds of fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • Pinch of salt
  • Toasted sliced almonds for garnishing salad

Method

Cook green beans for 5 minutes in boiling water, covered.  Drain green beans then return pan to heat.  Add the extra virgin olive oil and butter to the pan.  Toss beans in oil and melted butter.  Season green beans with a pinch of salt and transfer to a serving platter.

Garnish green beans with toasted sliced almonds.

A quick and easy recipe, which takes very little ingredients and very little time.

Our next recipe…..Grilled Flank Steak Salad

For your ingredients, you will need the following items:

  • 1/4 cup of extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/3 cup of balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon of minced garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon of pepper
  • 3/4 pound of beef flank steak
  • 1 package of spring mix salad greens
  • 1 plum tomato, cut into wedges
  • 1/4 cup of sliced radishes
  • 1/4 cup of chopped celery

2 green onions, cut into 1″ strips

Method

In a bowl, mix together the first six ingredients.  Pour 1/3 cup into a large resealable plastic bag; add in your steak.  Seal bag and turn to coat; refrigerate for 3 hours.  Cover and refrigerator the remaining marinade for dressing.

Then drain and discard marinade from steak.  Grill covered, over medium heat for 11-12 minutes on each side or until meat is cooked to it’s desired level (rare, medium-rare, etc.).  Cut across the grain into thin slices.  In large serving bowl, combine the greens, tomato, radishes, celery, onions and beef.  Drizzle with the marinade that is set aside then toss to coast.

These meals takes a little longer to prepare, cook and serve, but it’s well worth it.  This is around a 30-minute recipe.

Great cheers, holidays and good cooking.  Enjoy
