Honey Nut Fruit Salad

Fruit salad makes for a delicious and healthy snack.
Here’s a version I like to make with a little honey and some walnuts. The nuts add a nice texture to the fruit salad and give it a bit of a crunch. The rich colors of this salad are perfect for the fall, though this salad is fantastic all year round.
Ingredients
- 2 apples, cored and chopped into small pieces (I like to leave the peel on)
- 2 bananas, sliced
- 2 pears, cored and chopped into small pieces
- 2 oranges, peeled and cut into sections
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1/2 cup halved walnuts
- 1/2 cup honey
Method
- Mix the fruit pieces together in a large serving bowl. I like to toss the fruit so that the different kinds are evenly dispersed throughout the salad.
- Drizzle the lemon juice over the fruit, making sure to saturate all of the pieces. The lemon juice will help the fruits keep their colors and not turn brown.
- Add the honey and nuts, and stir together well. Serve as a light course or a dessert.
Makes about 4 servings
