Lettuce, an Extraordinary Remedy Purifier
Lettuce (Letuca sativa) is native to Egypt and there is testimony that is cultivated since 3,000 years ago. It was taken over by the Greeks and Romans and from them to spread throughout Europe.
Today, we know many varieties of lettuce, from the banal, Europe, with smooth leaves, until the leaves increases, coming at the foot of the Caucasus or Chinese cabbage, the leaves soft and slightly thick. All varieties of lettuce, however, are equally rich in detoxifying and nutritive elements.
In our country, lettuce is grown over a thousand years as one of the few foods with a bitter taste in our kitchen, Romanian, detoxifying effect. Substances with slightly bitter taste of lettuce leaves have miraculous properties, especially when consumed in large quantities.
We like lettuce, spring Romanians find on most tables, but few know that these leaves are an excellent source of vitamins, minerals and fiber, all absolutely necessary for the body now on the brink of spring. Lettuce leaves contain vitamins A, C, B1, B2 and minerals such as potassium, iron, phosphorus and molybdenum.
In case of biliary dyskinesia and chronic hepatitis, it is recommended leaf lettuce grows, a course of two weeks, during which consumes two, three plates of salad every day, as an aperitif.
To stimulate digestion, people eat lettuce sprinkled with apple cider vinegar with a little powder and black pepper, a quarter of an hour before each meal. In case of constipation, add salad and olive oil with lemon acreste green fruit, still unripe: mirabelle, plums, apricots, apples, pears.
Lettuce fluidifica clean blood. People who have high cholesterol and blood sugar are recommended lettuce, add the olive oil obtained by cold pressing and apple vinegar.
In diseases such as rheumatism, allergies, gout or consumption of lettuce helps to expel toxins from the body faster, especially in the intestinal track. Simultaneously with the consumption of green salad and plenty of fluids is recommended. A cure takes at least a month, during which they eat every day, even a quarter of a pound of salad.
Lettuce is very easy to prepare and takes no more time. Cut two or three threads of onion and place in a bowl. Wash lettuce well, leave to drain or dry in a clean towel, kitchen, and then cut or break, as we have seen more recently as is customary. Cut a small bunch of parsley and a dill, add a pinch of salt and a little olive oil and mix everything.
Remember that salad ingredients regardless of which is made, is preparing at least one hour before being served. Apple cider vinegar or lemon juice is added to salad just before serving and mix again.
When you go into the market to buy salad, choose one that is greener, even dark green. As lettuce is darker, the more nutrient rich. And what remains may be kept in the refrigerator in a plastic bag or box.
