Lunch at The Local Church

published by Mary Cassells on Apr 11, 2012

A midday lunch at my local church.

Lately I have been going to a luncheon at my local church.  Every Wednesday, a group of ladies serve a meal to anyone who is interested. There are about a hundred people who enjoy the lunch.

The meal was a chicken casserole, a green salad and a bread roll. There was juice, cookies and fruit salad for dessert.

Grace is spoken before the meal.

I don’t know who pays for the food.  It just seems to be there.  The church is about a twenty minute walk from my apartment.

What can I do to pay the ladies for the free food.  It is nice to get out and socialize with others. Should I bring them flowers? Should I send them a thank you card? I should do something.

I sat with Dougie..  He can’t see too well.  But he is always cheerful.  There are mostly men but there are also a few women like me.
