Three Quick to Make Jello Potluck Dishes
Here are three easy to make jello dishes that are great to take to a pot luck dinner at the church or other social occasion.
Jello salads and desserts are always a welcome addition to a pot luck. Here are three tried and true recipes that are sure to be a success. They can be prepared the day before or early in the morning the day of the pot luck.
Lime-Pistachio Salad
- 1 20 oz can drained, crushed pineapple
- 1 package instant Pistachio Pudding Mix
- 1 tub cool whip
- 1/2 package mini marshmallows
Combine the drained, crushed pineapple and dry pudding mix. Gently stir in the cool whip and mini marshmallows and refrigerate a few hours.
Orange Jello Salad
- 1 medium carton cottage cheese
- 8 oz can crushed pineapple
- 1 small can Mandarin oranges
- 1 small package orange jello
- 1 tub cool whip
Stir cottage cheese and dry jello together, add drained pineapple and oranges. Fold in cool whip and refrigerate.
Strawberry Jello with Fruit
- 2 small packages strawberry or strawberry-banana jello
- 2 sliced bananas
- 1/2 cup walnuts
- small can of pineapple chunks
- 1 tub cool whip
Make 2 packages of strawberry jello or strawberry-banana jello according to directions. Refrigerate until almost set. Add 2 chopped bananas, 1/2 cup walnuts, and small can of drained pineapple chunks. Stir and put back in refrigerator. If desired, cool whip can be folded in with the fruit before the jello sets for a marbled effect, or the cool whip can be left out and used as a topping. This is a simple recipe, but very good!
