Ada Prathaman (Steamed Rice Flour Cubes Served in Coconut Milk Payasam or Kheer)

Serves: Four

Time required: 25 minutes

Ingredients Required:

·         1 coconut, grated

·         100 gm, ada

·         100 gm. palm jaggery, crumbled

·         1/2 tsp. (2 g.) cardamom powder

·         4 tsp. (20 gm) ghee

·         100 gm cashewnuts

·         50 gm raisins

Method:

 

·         Grind the coconut and extract coconut milk.

·         Boil ada in two cups water till almost done.

·         Dissolve jaggery in a little water and add to the pan. Cook over low heat till the mixture thickens.

·         Add the coconut milk and cardamom powder. Stir well.

·         Heat ghee in a pan and pour into the ada prathaman. Serve hot, garnished with cashewnuts and raisins.

·         Fat: 37.8g.

·         Minerals: 2.2 g.

·         Fibre: 2.4 g.

·         Carbohydrates: 62.9 g.

    This is a very delicious recipe and we do it almost for all festivals.
