A simple recipe to make delicious fried zucchini that everyone will enjoy.
Here is my recipe for fantastic fried zucchini that will be a hit anytime you serve it.
Ingredients
5 medium size zucchini (you can also substitute yellow squash)
White flour
1 egg
Cooking oil
Water
Instructions.
Wash and dry the zucchini. Slice the zucchini into round slices. The size of the slices is dependent on how you like you Zucchini. If you like them extra crispy, slice the rounds thinly. If you like them less crispy, slice them thicker. Take a bowl and fill it 3/4 full of water. Add the egg and whisk them together. Fill another bowl 3/4 full of white flour. Place the zucchini slices in the water mixture and let them soak for 10 to 15 seconds. Only put 10 or 20 slices in the bowl at one time. Take the slices out of the water mixture one at a time. Place them on top of the white flour. Flip the slice and coat the other side. Shake off any excess flour and place the zucchini on a plate. Follow this procedure until all the zucchini is coated with flour. Take a large sauce pan and put enough oil in it to allow the zucchini to float while cooking. If there is not enough oil in the pan, the zucchini will get burned on the bottom of the pan. Heat the oil to a medium heat. Place the floured slices in the oil one at a time. Be careful not to drop the zucchini slices in as the oil may splatter and burn you. Let the zucchini cook one to two minutes or until they are golden brown. Use tongs to flip each zucchini and cook the other side the same amount of time. Remove the zucchini form the oil and place on a cloth or paper towel to remove excess oil. Salt the fried zucchini with season salt. Use as much or as little as you like. Let the zucchini cool and enjoy.
