Dutch Beets

Make tasty Dutch beets in simple steps.

Ingredients
- 2 cups of water
- 10 large beetroots
- 1/4 cup of butter
- 3 tablespoons of refined flour
- 2 cups of hot water
- 3 tablespoons of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 2 tablespoons of vinegar
- 1 small onion chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper freshly ground
Method
- Pour water into cooker. Add beetroots.
- Close cooker. Bring to full pressure on high heat. Reduce heat and cook for 16 minutes.
- Remove cooker from heat. Release pressure with slight lifting of vent weight.
- Open cooker. Drain, peel and cut beetroots into 2 ½ cm cubes.
- Melt butter in a pan on medium heat. Add flour and cook for about 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually add hot water. Cook till mixture thickens (approximately 5 minutes), stirring constantly.
- Add beetroots and all other ingredients. Stir well.
- Simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve hot.

Nice way to cook beet, but I am yet to taste it and this is the only difficulty in these kind of articles.
